Description of the Issue

after a while it stops working and this is extremely frustrating.

It's like a short term memory loss.
It works and then it stops working in a way that recent events are not remembered.
use ctrl Z and it will return something from earlier but not what you just deleted.

I noticed this under 8.8.9
I upgraded from 8.8.7 so I do not know if this started under 8.8 or 8.9

Steps To Reproduce

1. delete something
2. press cntrl Z
